Performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of civil engineering to the functional area of the assignment. Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Roadway Design Lead for a high profile light rail project.
Municipal roadway design including the design and review of Civil 3D models.
WSDOT Plans for Approval creation and managing through approval process
Designs/reviews plans, schedules and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
Leads the roadway/highway design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies.
Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements).
Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subconsultants, and design teams.
Mentors less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.
Performs other duties assigned by the Project Manager
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering is required
Registration as a Professional Engineer is required, Washington PE registration required.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive roadway/highway design experience is required.
Experience may include performing/leading design of local arterial streets, intersections, ADA pedestrian facilities design, channelization, signing, maintenance of traffic, traffic control design, storm drainage design, and utility coordination
Proficient modeling highways/roadways in Civil 3D using alignments and templates to create roadway models
Technical ability to lead the roadway design and create design (PS&E) submittal packages
Ability to coordinate all phases of a project
Working knowledge with local-city, AASHTO, MUTCD, ADA and WSDOT design standards as required
Client experience/focus on local Puget Sound-area Roadways/Highways and working with Sound Transit a plus.
ProjectWise experience a plus
Familiar with MS Office projects (Word, Excel, Project)
